Toyota's vision for an advanced future plug-in hybrid saloon, with a focus on connectivity and safety.

The advanced Hybrid Synergy Drive plug-in system features reductions in component size and weight, with improved overall fuel economy, better acceleration and longer all-electric range, while maintaining a short charge time.

The TOYOTA NS4 also signals a new styling direction for the Toyota brand with a distinctive front grille, sculpted front bumper, LED daytime running lights and, at the rear, there are wraparound lights that resemble a rear spoiler. There’s also powered swan-wing doors for greater accessibility.

Other TOYOTA NS4 features include its advanced internet-enabled multi-touch screen in the centre console, with a smartphone-like interface. This is used to control navigation, music and vehicle control systems. The system is even capable of “learning” driver preferences and habits to anticipate driver responses in specific situations.

New safety features includes a next-generation pre-collision detection system, a new blind-spot monitor and adaptive headlights. A pop-up bonnet automatically raises the rear of the bonnet in the event of a pedestrian collision to help prevent head injuries.

TOYOTA NS4 is also equipped with four new glass technologies that improve economy and driver visibility. While inner and outer rear view mirrors have been replaced with cameras that provide the driver with a panoramic rearward view.
